Rule of 3rds

This project was difficult for me. I kept getting the dimensions wrong and making objects to big or too small. Once I got help from my teacher my photos improved. I took a lot of pictures and continued to revise them and get feedback. I tried to take pictures with very minimal background as well as pictures with interesting backgrounds.

  1. It doesn't look like you had struggles with this assignment like you mentioned above! You found some very good ways to depict the rule of thirds! You were able to find the space you wanted to focus on in the imaginary grid well. The only thing i would say is maybe you could find a way to enhance it and make it more of the bold part of the picture. Other than that you did a really good job representing the rule of thirds

  2. I like how you took photographs of a larger scale using the sky and buildings. The sky ones worked well because you did a good job of getting more empty sky than the buildings. You chose great angles. Nice placement! I love the fire hydrant one because of the minimalism it captures. Your 4th photograph with the lights are a little confusing... I don't see a distinct marker. I also think you could have taken out the one of the camera case to make your series stronger as a whole.

  3. Maddy i like these photos a lot most of them really embody the project to the fullest extent. The only thing that i would change would be the very alive back round that they all have. Sometimes the back round overpowers the subject.

  4. I like how you decided not to put a lot of people in your photos, it makes them more focused on the pattern of the rule of thirds rather than the person. I also like how you used a lot of large objects and only parts of those to help the rule of thirds effect.
